  As a young adult going through grief, I was less than thrilled to be going to counseling. The idea of talking about things, opening up, especially to someone I did not know, was difficult for me. But Mary Shull was wonderful. I felt comfortable to share my heart with her, she listened intently, and I could tell that she truly cared. I would definitely suggest her to anyone, and especially encourage any young adults that might be looking for someone to give Mary a try. I have been so thankful for the way our sessions have given me the freedom to process, reflect, and feel. And it is this opportunity that has given me the gift of healing. So thank you, Mary.

  I found Mary a few years ago when I was struggling with the impact of childhood abuse in the relationship I was in at the time. Mary helped me understand why I was repeating similar cycles in relationships and how to overcome, practically and with the help of the Holy Spirit. Later my mother passed away from cancer and Mary's expertise in grief counseling was a tremendous support.
  
  Mary incorporates practical psychology and spiritual principles to give a holistic approach. She also clearly cares for her clients while providing loving yet professional boundaries. I highly recommend Mary for yourself or your family member. She is the best!

  For anyone walking the long journey of grief, there are no words to adequately express how highly I recommend Mary Shull. My husband and I lost our 19 year old daughter to cancer, forever changing the landscape of our lives both present and future. She left behind one younger sister. Knowing that we needed a counselor uniquely trained and experienced with grief, rather than a generalist, we reached out to Mary and have had the pleasure and privilege of her faithful presence and support in our lives for over two years. Mary has worked with our teen daughter, and with us as a couple and individually. Her presence is ever professional, yet permeated with genuine compassion, empathy and a deep faith in our loving God. She chooses to walk alongside, right in the midst of the pain, rather then remain detached. This comes at a tremendous sacrifice to her personally, but makes her the extraordinary counselor that she is. Mary leads confidently yet tenderly, gently prompting with questions that require authentic reflection. She is an extraordinary listener, taking to heart what is shared, and following up with questions that graciously lead to deeper healing. Mary does not hurry the journey of grief; she intuitively steps in step with you. In addition, she also literally walks in step with you, as she offers counseling on-the-move while enjoying a walk along her beautifully wooded property. This has meant the world to our daughter, who opens up more naturally when outdoors. Mary ends each counseling session with personalized heart-felt prayer, evidence that her work is anchored in her knowledge that God is the integral source of true and lasting healing. It is with tremendous gratitude and appreciation that I recommend to you Mary Shull.
