Very professional and extremely organized owner (Lori) and designer/architect (Dave). They were a pleasure to work with. Took a small bath & a half and created a highly-functional ADA bathroom for my husband. Nothing was left out.
I cannot express how grateful I am to Lori Bellport and Live in Place Designs. Their knowledgeable background, thoughtful approach and vast network of connections are key to planning any age-in-place project in your home.
My elderly mother, who uses a walker, will be relocating to the area next month and she will be staying with me until we find a senior community that is the right fit. I spoke with Lori by video in order to address the changes we would need in the bathroom and was blown away by how much more detailed the service was - from front door to back no threshold, doorway or step was overlooked. She took such great care in evaluating the space through the lens of seasoned healthcare professional - understanding my mom's unique challenges and talking through her activities of daily living to ensure my mother could safely enjoy everything with little to no intervention. From waking and dressing to bathing and bedtime and everything in between. Lori's insights as to what we would need to make this home safe for someone with limited mobility were invaluable.
Following our call, Lori provided a thorough summary of our conversation along with a substantial list of resources to serve as a guide for what supportive products to order, what alterations to the space to consider and recommended local contractors to help with the remodel. Additionally, in conversation, Lori had inquired about all aspects of my mother's health and provided some local healthcare resources and senior advisors which we might further aid in making this transition successful. It was all so much more than expected and so very much appreciated.
I wholeheartedly recommend this service to anyone looking to safely welcome an elder into their home or anyone considering remodeling their space to make living in your home in later years a little easier.
Thank you, Lori!
