  Great experience! Terrific food in a traditional Jersey diner. And their Manhattan Clam Chowder, a favorite of mine, was the best I've had anywhere - even in NYC! We also had the bowl of steamed little neck clams. Tender, fresh and with enough butter garlic bread, to share as an appy or alone as a meal.
  
  The owner was pleasant and solicited feedback from customers. Way to go!

  Lakeside Diner has vegan options on their menu! Pleasant surprise!! At many diners, you end up asking to adjust their salad or wrap options to suit your needs but here, there's inclusion to offer typical diner foods regardless of how you choose to eat. There's even a gluten free section of their menu!
  
  I ordered the vegan chicken hero. The best part about the meal was its balance of protein, ample vegetables, & starch. A hardy portion. The flavor has room to improve -- maybe request a sauce/dressing or BYOS (bring your own sauce). Overall, I'd visit again :~) Vegans try it out for yourself!
  The environment & service are top-notch too, attentive & caring people.

  Cute diner reminds me of when I used to go to king George diner in wayne with my grandparents... staff is friendly, some more attentive than others our waiter is and was great his ne is Roberto he is awesome!(will have to get his name next visit) there is a young guy always walking around on his phone I often wonder what his purpose is but at least the owner walks around and checks on tables to make sure everyone is good. I believe they should make a petite menu I see way to many patrons throw away their food and it gets upsetting since so many live without the things we have but that is my opinion. We look forward to going back when possible . And a word to those whether its here or anywhere have some patience when the establishment is busy.

  Our waitress, Talia was amazing very sweet and a lot of patience and we never had to look for her if we needed something.
  I ordered the little neck steamers, which were delicious. My kids and the rest of our family was happy with their food as well.

  This a great family diner. Not a single person is on their phone. The environment is a simple people enjoying each other’s company environment. The food is good. And the staff are friendly. Yes I cut my eggs and eat them with my pancakes and syrup. Don’t judge until you try. Lol
