Didn't go inside the visitor center, bravura came after 6 pm. The views are amazing here. There is a boat ramp and parking lot for cars with trailers.
Good amount of parking space, but it I know the parking could be full in good weather , weekends, midday.
Entrance is free. There is one of the entrances to the Appalachian Trail not far away.
Also Rental kayaks or kanoe available in summer time. I don't know timing for that. I just saw when they were packing them and leaving.

Go early to ensure your free parking. We arrived at noon, waited a few minutes in the parking lot to get a spot as someone was leaving.
You will find 1.2 miles long red dot trail to summit mount Tamanny. The journey is not so smooth but the view from the top of the mountain is spectacular. Late October is the best time for watching fall colors.

Coming to the gap is always a joy whether it is for hiking or relaxation. I recommend always getting there very early in the morning to ensure parking in the lots but we did luck out with getting parking at 2 in the afternoon.

This was a spontaneous, unplanned, short trip and it was nice to see normalcy with families picnicking and kayaking/rafting. It turned out to be a great afternoon just walking and relaxing with our family.

Remember, go early, pack small food (to not attract wildlife) and please clean up after yourselves to keep the national parks as beautiful as they are!

    05/31/2021:

Today, we hiked on Appalachian Trail to Sunfish Pond and back down thru Dunnfield Creek Trail, which was such an adventure because we had to walk across the creek at 5 different spots to get back to the trail.

First, at this hot outdoor season, parking is the top concern for outdoor lovers. So you can imagine how parking would be since from here, you can access to Appalachian Trail, the most popular hiking trail in Eastern America, and Mt. Tammany overlooking Delaware Water Gap, one of the most popular hiking places in NJ. There are several parking lots on both sides of I-80 you can park. Among them, parking lot at Kittatinny Point Visitor Center is the first choice for us as this is the largest parking lot in the area.

Upon arrival at 9:45am, the lot, which can host tens, or over a hundred cars, was about half filled already.

On the other side of I-80, right at the trailheads, there’s another parking lot with approximately 25 parking spots, which is more convenient for hikers. And Dunnfield Fall is within thousands feet.

Second, there are many picnic tables either in tree shades or under a pavilion here. Since we will picnic after hiking, this is the perfect place for us to park and rest.

Third, this park is right by Delaware Water Gap. All you need to do is just to walk down to the river and see the beautiful river and two ridges “looking at each other “ thru Delaware River.

Forth, if you like water sports, bring your own kayak or rent from Adventure Sport (see info in one of the pictures or search online for it) and have fun in the river. You can also go fishing here.

In a word, if you plan to come to this area either for hiking on the trails or having fun in the water, this park would be a top choice.

A great trail! Little challenging for my kids (10 and 12), but they managed.
If you enjoy hiking through rough terrain, very rocky, then this is the perfect spot!
As I've heard, Mt. Tammany trail is pretty popular, so it was kind of crowded when we went.
The views on top are breathtaking. On our way back, we stopped by the stream, which ended up being the kids' favorite part!
The whole trail (went up on Red and turned back on Blue) took us about 3 hours.
    Overall, a beautiful hike!
