Perfect family day for us and our 3 Littles. 2 playgrounds, big lawn area, hiking and the views on top of the dam were amazing. Highly recommend!!
Kensico Dam is a beautiful park with many shady trees, big field area, paved ground for walking, biking or roller skating. It has trails, ample parking and a brand new playground with friendship and ADA swings. It's close to town with dining options. It is pet friendly. There are many free events held here during spring, summer and winter. Definitely a must for families.
Beautiful, clean and huge! Quite a few steps to get to the top of the dam— wear comfortable shoes. The view from the top is impeccable.
Beautiful green lawn with lots of trees for shade to have a fun picnic.
There's also 2 food trucks, one which sells Nathan's hot dog etc and the other sells ice-cream and frozen treats— not sure if they're always parked here. Definitely will be back!
Visited while they were having an Asian American and Pacific Islander culture festival which was a nice surprise. There's stairs on both sides of the dam to walk the whole length. It was a hot sunny day so I'd recommend sun screen.
It's closer than you think, not too far from the White Plains convention center. There's simple parking.
The damn is quite a sight. At the foot of the dam, there's a play area for children. We took the stairs to the left all the way up to the top. The stairs are narrow but manageable. At the top you can use gaze out at the water north of the wall and all of the land to the south.
Is quite picturesque at the top.
