  I’m so grateful for Julia and Henning. Everything on the menu is fresh and thoughtful and delicious. This is the kind of place that people will be traveling long distances to eat at, it’s already starting to happen and they only just opened this season. I’m drooling thinking about the last meal we had there. So much love and talent. Our first time there, I had a mint julep that was green with abundant fresh picked mint from the herb garden and was maybe the best cocktail I’ve ever had. Julia makes you feel like you’re in her home, like it’s a big mellow dinner party that’s a little sad to leave when the meal is over. This would be a gem no matter where in the world it was. Happy it’s in Round Top.

  10/10 would absolutely recommend this place to anyone in the area! The food and service were all locally sourced and absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back soon!

  Julia’s Local is an adorable treat of a restaurant with country charm, farm to table foods, gracious service, and charmingly eccentric dishes such as wasabi mashed potatoes and a “flight” of deviled eggs. All their food is obtained as locally as they can such as trout farmed nearby and the culinary garden they maintain on the premises. Blueberries were “picked down the street.” The effort seems to pay off—everything we had was delicious and fresh of course.
  
  Tip: if the tables are all taken, you can eat at the bar. Speaking of tips, gratuities are not accepted here. The restaurant’s employees are paid equally and at a living wage. The service was outstanding; when I failed to find a drink that appealed to me, they picked fresh mint from the garden and poured hot water to make very fresh mint tea!
  
  We celebrated my birthday there and loved every minute of it. The total for two appetizers, two entrees and a shared dessert was $103.68 including tax.

  The food was outstanding! The owners are very kind and put so much love in a well curated menu for food and natural wine lover!

  OMG what can I say? What an INCREDIBLE experience we had Thursday night at this GEM of a restaurant. I came across this place in my many searches of things to do while we were on a small getaway. Boy did it not disappoint!!
  From the moment we pulled up the owner was outside greeting us and escorting us into the beautifully decorated dining area. She was very animated as she explained how they came to be and went over everything about the menu ( most of it FRESHLY PICKED from their garden)
  The girls working there were friendly and sweet and very attentive. They have a WONDERFUL record collection that they play during your dining with requests taken!! Lovely !
  We started with appetizer’s to share, a trout cake, the famous deviled eggs and a snack stand which is GORGEOUS! Full of beautiful fresh veggies, homemade bread, homemade butter and a duck pate’! Everything was scrumptious!! Of course we were full already and our entrees had not come.
  The entrees we ordered (but had to pack up) were the herb chicken, so flavorful, the skirt steak … amazing, and the short rib, delicious!!!
  We would highly recommend this beautiful out of the way place to anyone in the area looking for FRESH , farm to table dining!! We WILL return!
