  I started lessons with Joe in my 50’s after finally getting around to learning what I had always had a passion for. Joe tailors his lessons and instructions to each individual with an emphasis on proper technique, style, feel and the personal interests of each student. He can teach any style to perfection…with incredible patience and care for each students success. He is always encouraging and welcomes the interactions of students as they pass through his studio. Joe is a wonderful teacher and person to spend time with and I highly recommend anyone interested in learning drums to contact Joe.

  Joe was my first drum teacher, and I took lessons with him for about 6 months before moving to another area. Coming in, I had a deep interest in playing jazz, and I specifically sought out Joe in order to develop skills in the genre, as well as be able to work on the fundamental techniques of drum playing. In this span of about 6 months, I learned an immense amount. By no means am I a master of drum playing, but I am really pleasantly surprised with how much Joe and I went over, and how it prepared me to go forward and continue my playing.
  
  It is abundantly clear that Joe loves this art, and loves to teach it. Not only is Joe a highly skilled professional who knows his craft, he is also an organized, attentive, patient, and passionate teacher, which makes all the difference. Joe took me from knowing almost nothing about drum playing to being able to sit down and play over some of my favorite tunes confidently. Was my technique perfect after 6 months? Surely not. However, Joe gave me an excellent roadmap for what I needed to do, which is the most important part. For that, I'm extremely grateful.
  
  I highly, highly recommend taking lessons with Joe. His knowledge of various genres is deep, and if you happen to be into jazz like me, you'll really love getting into conversations with him about it, and most importantly, playing together! I learned a whole lot in just 6 months, and I can only imagine what I'd learn if I was in the area for longer. Thank you Joe!

  Joe has been an amazing mentor and instructor for my daughter. She has attended weekly drum lesson at JC’s Drum school for 7 years and the level of personal instruction is superb. He has helped her to prepare for solo festivals, concerts, and now college. Thank you Joe for being so instrumental in her music career!

  I have been studying drums with Joe for 5 years now and I absolutely love it. He has really helped me improve as a drummer and has improved my appreciation for music. Thanks to Joe I have been able to play in many selective groups such as Jazz Band, Area All State, Wind Ensemble, and even as the drummer in our high school theater productions. Joe is very talented, patient, and I was able to get along with him really well thanks to his laid back and fun loving personality.He is an amazing teacher and I am very glad that I chose to take lessons with him. I think it is the main reason why I love drumming and have continued to have such an interest throughout my life as a student.

  When I saw Joe perform for the percussionists at my school when I was in the eighth grade I knew that I had to take lessons with him. Later that year after asking my mom if I could take drum lessons, she finally agreed and I started taking lessons that June. Ever since then I have been taking lessons and even after four years I continue to learn new and interesting things. It is Joe's easy going personality and the confidence that he has in you that really makes the experience all worth while. Over the past four years, lessons have given me more than just knowledge of all different types of music, it has given me a renewed sense of confidence in myself both as a person and as a musician. The lessons are worth every penny and I would highly recommend it to anyone that finds enjoyment in music.
