  During a long weekend family stay at The Homestead Resort, my grandson found an old, old parcheesi game in the library. As a lover of family game-nights, he wanted to play, so read the directions to refresh my memory and teach his mom, and dad the game. We played for hours, lots of laughs, and definitely a good game. Was a wonderful family weekend full of great moments.
  
  I try to choose a Christmas gift each year that either evokes a special memory, or will give them a memory of family. So I thought, maybe a special parcheesi board game. I wanted something he could keep, take with him to college, have when he has his own family. ( I still have my first much played Scrabble game)
  
  While browsing the Etsy shop, I found a handcrafted, custom Pachesi Board (finding out that Parcheesi is based on the Pachisi board game originating in India). It appeared to be exactly what I wanted. I chose the wood and the animals for each corner. While some may say it is an expensive game, I assure you, it is worth it.
  
  Within a couple of hours of submitting my order, Verity was calling me! She wanted me to know she was out of town, but would arrive home within a few days to give me a mock-up of the board for my approval. Amazing!
  
  Sure enough, within hours of her return, she sent the mock-up, and a special note to suggest a custom engraving on the back of the board at no additional charge. I told her something like : This board belongs to ……
  She said great, but maybe I’d also want to include something more personal and get back to her if I did, and no worries if I did not.
  Thought about it and had the board engraved with words to capture memories of family and a special place. Without her suggestion, I would not have included this on the board.
  
  The board arrived a little earlier than promised, and was BEYOND my expectations. Seriously beautiful. Well crafted, the laser work it exquisite, the engraving makes it absolutely perfect. The hinges are of good quality. Not only was the board perfect, but the game pieces and dice are in a lovely storage bag while the entire board and game-piece storage bag is contained in a very thick felt-like material storage bag - all very high quality. Verity did not skimp on any part of this project.
  
  Now, If I can just wait for Christmas to give it to him!
  
  PS. The game was missing a few dice, and sure enough Verity is sending them out right away. I would have been perfectly okay with getting a few dice, but she insisted on providing the her quality pieces.

  Verity engraved some knives for me as groomsmen gifts. I wanted to keep things simple and they ended up coming out great. She worked with me on-site to choose font, size, position, etc. exactly as I wanted it and then just forged ahead and engraved all 8 knives while I was there to watch. The whole process took about 20 minutes and could not have been easier! If I ever need similar work done in the future, I will not hesitate to reach out to her again.
