I cannot say enough about this wonderful school and Master Pete! My children started here in 2020 when their old school closed, it was a heartbreaking experience for my kids but Master Pete kindly and generously welcomed our family. The way my son and daughter have grown and progressed is immeasurable. I admire and appreciate Master Peter’s teaching methodologies, his patience, standards, and values. Classes are an ideal balance of fun and challenge. I’ve seen my kids develop physical strength, endurance, knowledge, and skills that I am continually impressed by. They’ve made friends, hosted birthday parties, and attended Summer Camp at High Kick; they go to classes 3-5 times a week and are always so eager to go! Martial arts are so much more than a belt ranking, I sincerely see how the lessons learned in Master Pete’s school are foundational and necessary in today’s challenging world. If you’re considering martial arts-look no further!
Highly recommend High Kick. The owner Master Pete is very experienced and patient with all the kids. Our son gets physical therapy and this is a great added activity for him to get stronger and practice gross motor skills. He has grown so much since attending and gets excited to go and work towards his goals. They teach him respect, patience, self discipline and defense. We have so much gratitude for Pete and this school. Definitely check it out!
Great Taekwando Studio for families! Master Peter possesses the right mix of skill, compassion, discipline, and encouragement to foster student success.
We have been clients for about 5 years. Our son goes three to five times a week, bringing the per lesson charge under ten dollars. At the age of nine, our son is now expected to perform 150 sit-ups and 75 push-ups as a warm up. While he has worked his way up to about 20 consecutive pushups, he will finish his sets with either knee pushups or a hybrid where he lets himself down to the ground before pushing himself back up. We are all busy and it is so easy for the day to get away from us without him getting rigorous exercise. We know that 3-5 days a week he is exerting himself, learning self-defense, learning to follow instructions, and making friends. We have made friends with most of the parents as well. Early on, there are probably about three belt promotions per year which are a sort of recital where the kids perform for their parents and feel proud. There are dodgeball games, obstacle courses, Halloween and Christmas/Hanukkah parties, and an overall atmosphere of calm, expert instruction. Some students choose to spar a few times a week while others just take lessons. Some advance to compete in tournaments. While at first you will probably stay to watch the lessons, eventually you can use the 45 minutes to make a Target, Costco, pet store, Stop and Shop or bank run. Master Peter has classes all night, so there are times I can come back 5 minutes late and know my son is safe. I have used the time to grade papers (English teacher) and you may even see me exercising while my son’s lesson takes place on the universal weights and dumbbells in the back. Tae Kwon Do has given a structure to our week, strengthened our son who was developmentally behind since birth, and given us friendships that make life better. You will marvel at how patient Master Peter is as an instructor. We are thankful for all that High Kick TKD has done for us.
I've been attending Peter Speciale's High Kick Tae Kwon Do for over 6 years years and the experience has been great. I would recommend this place for anyone interested in doing a martial art and putting in the time and commitment to become a black belt. I have been a black belt for over 2 years and will hopefully receive my 2nd degree in the next coming months. To anyone thinking about pursuing the martial arts definitely try this place out!
