Came for an open mat session. Greg the owner and everyone at the gym were very welcoming. Great space, great mats and great rolls. Thank you Hamptons BJJ.
I’ve been training at HJJ for over 5 years now and can’t come up with one bad thing to say about the experience. The gym is state of the art and always kept very clean. The techniques taught are top notch and demonstrated in an easily digestible way. On top of that Greg has created a community that is not only challenging to roll with but are also some of the most kind and friendly people I’ve ever met off the mat
My son has been training at Hampton jiu jitsu for over a year, and I cannot give it higher praise. Coach and owner Greg has created a community of people that care about training and growing martial artists--but also care about each other as people. If you are a parent looking for a way to teach your children self-confidence or self-defense, this place is a must. Also a proud supporter of local military.
I visited Hamptons Jiu Jitsu from Seattle. The people were welcoming, and made me feel at home. I took a private with Greg, and I really liked the things he taught me, which gave me a different perspective. Will definitely be back whenever I am in town!
What an amazing dojo!! My 11 year old son recently started practicing at Hamptons Jiu Jitsu with sensei Greg Melita.. This is his first experience with Martial Arts and Greg has not only made him feel welcome and capable but he’s already instilled in my son a love and respect for Jiu Jitsu. Greg’s own discipline and love for this practice is so apparent that it’s contagious!! He’s an amazing teacher when it comes to working with kids, and the progress my son has made in just over a month has been truly impressive.. The sensibility, skills and coordination that he’s developing are already spilling over into his personal life as well.. He’s more active and focused, he’s stronger and more energetic, and he’s taking a much more compassionate and patient approach when dealing with his little sister.. We’ve stayed after class a number of times to watch “the big guys” practice and it’s easy to see Greg’s expertise as a teacher is only accentuated when working with men and women his age.. If you’re looking for a fun and engaging new disciple for your child or a dojo to start or continue your own practice, give Hamptons Jiu Jitsu a try.. You won’t be disappointed!!
Studying martial arts provides you with a physical challenge combined with a mental one - and teaches you to defend yourself, too. There's no feeling quite like the feeling of knowing that your body is strong, agile, and able to do whatever you want it to do.Over time, it increases self-confidence and pride - and that carries over to work, home, and every area of your personal life.
