(May 23, 2023, 1:33 pm)This was our first time and the weather was nice. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. It was beautiful and relaxing. My granddaughter was quite the photographer for a 3yr old.

(October 26, 2021, 5:44 pm)What a gorgeous oasis in the middle of suburban Short Hills. It's peaceful, with pretty plantings and manicured lawns. There a little follies, small outbuildings, a pond, little nooks to quietly sit. There are benches here and there, two lovely fountains, even a little area with grazing turkeys and geese. The docents who work there are very friendly and knowledgeable. It is open only from May to November and there is an admission fee, which is well worth it to support these lovely grounds. Can't wait to visit again.

(August 13, 2021, 8:17 am)Beautiful hidden gem. The gardens here are beautifully maintained by the volunteers of this organization. They have tours available and all visits are by appointment only but you can just wander the gardens on your own at your own pace.
The gardens show a snapshot of the opulence of the old time rich display lifestyle. With intricate architecture and designs on display. The organization is slowly restoring the gardens and structures to their original state, but it is a work still in progress. There’s a farm with turkeys and geese on site that the kids can look at, with numerous benches for sitting for us older folks. An oasis of natural beauty close by.
