  Very impressive mansion built by Raymond Pitcairn in the 1930's, it looks like a cathedral/cloister, beautiful building. It is between Philadelphia and Trenton in the countryside. I enjoyed the cloister. It's amazing what the Pennsylvania countryside has to offer.

  A must see place! Huge cathedral, other historical buildings, awesome place to take a walk and spend your day enjoying historical views. I enjoyed it even tho the museum was closed

  Glad we were able to join their lively guided tour of Glencairn this spring. They are closing the museum for 1 + years to install air conditioning. They plan to do outreach and virtual tours, and there's an Audio/QR code tour of the grounds we enjoyed. The Pitcairn family (with their 9 children) were big fans of birds and sheep. They're featured in so many sculptures, stonework and mosaics that you can spend the day on a scavenger hunt for them. Glencairn is renowned for its stained glass and the cloister courtyard is another highlight. Their belltower offers a full view of the Philly skyline.

  Beautiful museum. You need to reserve tickets in advance and it is a timed tour. There are several tours available and a description of each can be found on their website. You can also obtain passes from the local libraries. Photography is welcomed as long as you don't use a flash or tripod.

  Wonderful and charming castle to visit on your day trip. Make sure to have a good camera with you as you are guaranteed to have beautiful views!
  The tour may feel like a bit too boring, but it's the only way to see the rooms inside so just bear with it. You get to know some historical facts which was good enough for me.
  I reserved the tickets but also saw people buying them on site, so it looked like it was fine as well.
