  This is the first of Open Land Conservancy's 8 free nature preserves in eastern PA that we've visited. We spent a peaceful few hours hiking the grassy woodland trails with our leashed pup.This preserve offers trails to a meadow and through woodlands to visit 2 ponds. Since we didn't see any trail markings, we were glad that we'd printed out a trail map online.The highlight was a border of buttercups on the trails as far as the eye could see. There is a small parking lot by the trail entrance with a trash can. There are no restrooms/portapotties nor access to drinking water.We did encounter some unleashed dogs, which is prohibited.

  Lots of open Meadows. Large cut grass pathways for walking. Plenty of trails with either grass or mud/dirt paths for exploring the wooded area. Most of the trails are part of a loop system so you can decide how far or short you want to experience on your visit.
  
  The shade from the trees creates about a 10° difference when walking in the shaded area. Great for those hot days in the summer.
  
  There may be a map at the beginning. If not you can use Google maps or a copy of the map in the photo section here.
  
  The trail is not always well marked. Parking lot is mainly crushed stone and there is probably room for 20 vehicles (?)
  
  Depending on the time of year there is wildlife seeing throughout the preserve. Certain days it may be just birds but you also might see squirrels, rabbits, foxes and occasionally a deer. If you are down along the ponds you might catch a turtle or a frog along the water line.

  Grassy trails, 2 small ponds, birds, flowers, trees, deer, and other wildlife. Trails are spacious and quiet but are not well marked. There are usually maps available at the entrance.

  If you are up for a nature walk or jog that's under an hour, this is a peaceful place to come. A pretty nature preserve on 88 acres of private land, it was originally part of an old farm property with woods, rolling hills, meadows and a small pond. It's a beautiful, 40 minute walk around the perimeter. There are many unmarked trails that weave through the preserve. It is not a public park but a preserve designed to protect the natural flora and fauna of the property so you'll see many varieties of indigenous trees as well as fox, rabbits, white tail deer, raccoon, heron..etc.
  
  If you're uncomfortable with the idea of you and/or your dog potentially running into one of these wild critters, you may want to consider one of the other open area public parks nearby. Be aware that the township requires that "all dogs must be leashed" when not on your own property. Because of this and the fact that the preserve was created to protect the wildlife, you'll have to fork over a hefty $1000 fine if you're found with with your dog off leash (and this is enforced). Because it isn't a public park, you'll also need to be prepared to bring bags to pick up after your dog and and expect to toss it in the trashcans by the main entrance.
