  Dr Rubin is the most qualified competent orthopedic surgeon in Connecticut especially for the most complicated difficult knees. Many providers accept only those patients they know will take an hour for Total Knee Replacement. I was referred to DR Rubin because he is known for his abilities to complete the most difficult of TKR. My first knee took 31/2 hrs, second knee was estimated to be about the same but he managed to complete it in 2 hrs. Both of my legs are the same length and his work is phenomenal, you have to do the work to build up the strength yourself, that no doctor an do for you. My legs were so bad all I cared about was walking independently again and bed side manner is secondary to skill in my opinion. Not that he doesn’t have a good bed side manner, he does. The average person doesn’t realize how busy surgeons are. the only problem I experienced is Yale’s phone and communication system. It is almost nonexistent and when Dr Rubin was out of state I had to call 22 times for a RX refill, got no response and had to go to ER 8 days post op. I wish he’d leave Yale for this reason, he is far too skilled to have his name associated with such a negligent system. I can honestly say I don’t want to deal with anyone but Dr Rubin and I trust him with my life.

  I’m 38 and had a total hip replacement and I couldn’t ask for a better more personable and professional doctor. I got my life back thanks to the dr and his team!!! I would recommend him to anyone!
