(October 14, 2022, 11:19 pm)We've passed this area plenty of times and have admired the fields around from the car. Recently, I discovered from Google Maps that there's a point of interest here, so I marked it down to check out sometime. One afternoon, we headed out for a hike on the Forbidden Drive, only to find the parking lot nearly full. Wanting to stay away from crowds, we looked for an alternative, and I suggested this spot.
This preserve is so charming, and it's great that not too many people seem to know about it, because there isn't much parking space at the house. The path is paved, with boardwalks around that overlook areas that I'm sure birds frequent - very stroller-friendly, I think. There is a section where you can continue on the grass, but we didn't check it out this trip. Maybe next time! -

(November 7, 2021, 9:26 am)A decent patch of meadow in the middle of a ton of highways and developments, like an oasis of nature. There are boardwalks and great platforms for taking in the scenery, and this is a great spot for birdwatching, especially if you like all sorts of sparrows. As a bonus feature, there's a slightly psychotic mockingbird who spends all day every day attacking his reflection in the side view mirrors of cars parked in the lot. While I was waiting for my friend to meet me, I laughed out loud at this little beastie.
