  Both of my children (age 9) have been training here for a few months. Pat is a great trainer, a good balance of being stern to assure they learn but also giving them a bit of time to play.

  My 6 year old son started BJJ with Pat over the summer and I joined a month later.
  
  For my 6 year old, Pat keep things interesting at the gym, always teaching new techniques each week, his teaching instructions are clear and simple for a 6 year old to follow. Pat is friendly but yet instills discipline with the kids and most importantly, he keeps it fun. My son really enjoys the classes with Pat, he looks forward to going to class, whereas in the past with a different martial art, he dreaded and hated it. He takes a lot of pride in it when we talk about what he did in class with my wife. Too bad our schedule only permits 2 days a week, he would enjoy going more often had our schedule permitted.
  
  And the best part about BJJ is that it's very effective to defend himself from bullies without needing to hurt anyone should one day he needs to.
  
  For myself, everyone welcomed me with open arms on my first class. I'm in my early 40's so I'm a bit out of shape, but the guys at the gym are very encouraging and friendly. Can't say enough about Pat and his gym.

  I only went once a week for about 5 month but it is a very good school. Real BJJ with a good instructor, pretty tough classes. I would highly recommend.

  Since joining I've lost 35lbs and the training has helped with nagging injuries I've had for years. I'm really grateful for Pat and all the people at Allstar MMA for making a welcoming environment.

  Amazing place. Amazing instructor. My 5 year old son and I started about two weeks ago and I would highly recommend all star MMA in Warren to everyone. Pat is an excellent teacher and able to accommodate all skill levels and teach the basics in a simple, effective way. Pat is patient, enthusiastic and truly enjoys teaching. If anybody is thinking about learning an invaluable life skill, this is the place and instruction you'll l want.
