Bob Porri has to be the best music teacher I’ve come across. I was able to learn so much about playing guitar in only a couple of months, more than I could ever learn on my own. He taught me how to play multiple songs with simple chords! He is also non-judge mental about your playing skills, progression, and is very flexible when trying to pay/schedule appointments! Without a doubt he is the best person to learn from if you want to play an instrument.
Good guy, great teacher! He cured me of all (or most) the wrong things I was doing after nearly 50 years playing guitar. Now my grandson is taking lessons!
Bob is an excellent teacher! I had been struggling to learn bass guitar on my own for about a year when I decided I needed a teacher. I am so glad I found Bob! I learned more in 1 lesson than I did in one year on my own. Bob's goal is to make you a well-rounded musician, not just teach you how to read tabs. Bob started to teach me the basics of improvisation and song composition after only a month or two of lessons. He makes learning music easy and fun. And he tailors the lessons to the kind of music I like - so the songs I'm practicing are ones that I actually enjoy playing. If you've been trying to learn how to play guitar on your own with books or an app, put them down and give Bob a call. You will be glad you did!
I've been taking lessons from Bob for about 3 years. He's a great guy, has a nice studio, knows his stuff (Hartt School grad), and is more than happy to direct our lessons towards the music I want to play. Highly recommended.
