  I love love LOVE the bakery great selection .Big Y definitely has a bigger variety of items and their shelves actually have more then 2 boxes of the products on them unlike stop n shop. Prices are great and even better when there are sales, I mean everything is expensive these days. Overall I would much rather shop at Big y then stop n shop, or maybe I just have a bias because I worked here when I was in high school...and the customer service isn't rude like stop and shop in Hadley. The only thing I dislike about big y is it seems that their produce has a weird smell to it once you get it home, it seems to stink up your refrigerator. I don't know what they are doing differently but it's something and very noticeable.

  Great prices and very fresh grocery items! The pizza that is made fresh in the deli area is really very good and reasonably priced. The option to use the self-checkout rather than go to a cashier does help speed up the process. It's also a real benefit to have the Big Y so close to other stores and shops in the area for added convenience when doing errands. It's good to know that they sell store gift cards, too.

  This is a great supermarket! The prepared food are just fantastic, the butchers are helpful and friendly. They used to do fish and chips to eat there or take out, but I'm not sure if they still do that. I also like that they will cook lobsters for you so you don't need ahuge pot to boil them at home. Ask the people at the fish counter, they will take care of you!
