(April 11, 2023, 9:44 am)The Berkeley Heights Y is a new, modern, well-equipped fitness facility with many great programs for families, children, seniors, and singles. There is so much support for families: childcare and camp and afterschool programs. There's a beautiful pool for the summer, and pickleball for all ages. But the building isn't what makes it so unique: It's The Y's focus on welcoming everyone, regardless of race, religion, or personal beliefs, and providing financial assistance for those unable to afford it due to temporary setbacks or more permanent challenges. I feel very welcome and well-supported here, not just another member making the cash register ring for some corporate fitness chain. Being part of the national Y system, the staff gets excellent training, and the systems, like the mobile app, are top-notch.

(March 14, 2015, 5:24 pm)Lived near this Y for many years now and have always been impressed by their excellent service towards the community. They opened their doors during Hurricane Sandy and provided a warm place with electricity for many people. Child care service is outstanding and the gym is always clean and well stocked with equipment. Couldn't be happier!
