  Amazing restoration of the home and additional buildings. Use of antiques and reclaimed materials made me connect perfectly to the owners! I wish everyone could be so conscious of what exists in the world and make use of such items! The hosts are lovely (including the host dogs) and they all made me feel like it was my own home. I had a very early mornings when I stayed there and they were accommodating to having something for me early each morning (coffee and breakfast). Thank you Beacon Hermitage. (I am still dreaming about how you decorated the mantel in the main home and how you decorated the additional buildings!.)

  Reverend Jim is truly the best we could have asked for! Our wedding was in New Rochelle close to where I grew up, but I planned it from where I live now in Milwaukee. Rev Jim was super flexible with Zoom/Skype video chat meetings because of this, and I even had the opportunity to visit him for an in-person meeting at his home when I was in town at the Beacon Hermitage. I must say this is a beautiful, stunning, and artsy property if you get the chance to visit! We worked with Rev Jim for a couple of years leading up to the wedding where he provided us a questionnaire for my husband and I to fill out separately with some personal questions about our relationship so he could learn more about us as a couple. I highly recommend taking this seriously as he was able to truly personalize and incorporate our love into the ceremony this way! Rev Jim also provided a document listing the different types of ceremonies to select what suits us best. We aren’t the most religious, but wanted a little mention of god’s blessing to appease our family, and he nailed that. He was also very accommodating with having a couple of family members conduct a reading, as well as allow time for my step-sister (who is a musical theatre professional) to sing at the beginning of our ceremony. We also decided for our unity ceremony to do the handfasting which truly “tied the knot”! During our reception, we received so many compliments from our guests on his ceremony, and even had some friends ask if they can use him for their wedding! He was so positively impactful and is someone to remember forever as such a big part of our special day! Check out his Instagram (@revjimrooney) to get a glimpse of what he does!   Excellent bed and breakfast located conveniently between Cold Spring and Beacon.
  Clean bedrooms & bathrooms, with the owners going the extra mile to make sure your stay is stress free and enjoyable.
  The grounds are extensively landscaped and seating areas at the upper parts of the property offer beautiful views.
  And don't forget to check out the art and fine antiques while you are staying here, lots to see!
  Would definitely recommend!

  Our stay at Beacon Hermitage was so special. It was lovely to be greeted by such a kind and welcoming host. The little touches he added - like a birthday cupcake for my wife's birthday or hot cider for the chillier days - made it even more memorable. We went with our small, shy dog who was welcomed and loved on by the hosts. I think he really came out of his shell by being there! The house is beautifully decorated with art and comfy furniture, so we enjoyed cozy breakfasts in the dining room and reading books in the lounge. Our room was also great for watching a movie and vegging out, with an awesome view of tree-covered hills. The microwave and fridge in the room's closet was especially helpful when we wanted to snack on leftovers. The bathroom is shared, but we were the only guests at the time. Even so, had no trouble storing our toiletries in our room since there is plenty of room in the closet as well as a dresser and mirror in the room. The gardens are equally decorated and expansive, leading to various places to sit and enjoy the sun and even a longer trail. The b+b is a short and straight-forward drive from Beacon and Cold Spring and we had no problem driving into town to explore and eat. We can't wait to visit in the Summer!

  Beacon Hermitage is everything that was advertised and more. I wish I could leave them 6 stars. The whole house is beautiful, with an amazing outdoor space. In addition, having breakfast, water/juice, and granola bars in the room was very helpful. Jim made me and my partner feel very welcome. I'm looking forward to staying here again.
