  Our daughter participated in IOP, PHP and residential care. The staff of Backcountry Wellness was a solid team and regularly communicated with each other and with us. They helped our daughter to weight restore while in residential care. The home was a warm, beautiful and welcoming environment that houses up to six adolescents/young adults. Each person gets very individualized treatment. We felt our daughter was well cared for and safe in this environment. We were able to visit her on the weekends and have nightly phone calls.
  
  Dr, Bronfman, the founder, was readily available when we had questions. Leslie, the family therapist, helped improve our communication and expectations of each other. Our daughter really connected with her therapist and learned quite a bit about her illness. Overall, it was an effective intervention for our daughter that set her on the right path.

  When choosing care for yourself or someone you love, it can feel overwhelming to navigate the cesspool of centers who often seem like they care more about your insurance money than your recovery. Backcountry Wellness never treats a patient like a product. They invest the same care and attention in you or a loved one as they would a son, daughter, sister, brother or any other member of the family. BCW doesn’t offer a vague illusion of health, they give you the hands-on tools and invaluable knowledge to achieve both mental and physical recovery. When deep inside an eating disorder, it can seem like any individual outside your own head can’t be trusted with preparing your food or restructuring your life. Trust BCW. Throughout my time there, I’ve met a multitude of tenacious, inspiring individuals, but the most important person I ever met was myself. After working with Dr. Joanna Bronfmann, Jessica Zweiman, Molly Gerster, and too many others to count, I feel like I’ve finally reconnected with who I truly am since anorexia first sank its claws into me at age 12. I’m feeling like “me” again. It’s been a process more difficult yet more magical than any quest from Lord of the Rings. There is no doubt in my mind that BCW saved my life – on several occasions. However, Dr. Bronfman and her team didn’t just give me life, they gave me a life worth living.

  I cannot say enough good things about Backcountry! They went above and beyond to meet my daughter where she was and have never let up. From Care Coaches, to the founder, Dr. Bronfman, the staff at Backcountry have been absolutely extraordinary. Backcountry was not my daughter's first treatment center but soon after her arrival, the staff fully committed to her individual needs and have the capacity to stand with her throughout her entire journey to recovery, no matter what level of care she needs. They tuned in to all the pieces she was struggling with and saw her as a whole child, not just as an eating disorder. Her team took the time to treat her with compassion and respect at all times. I truly wish every child who is battling with an eating disorder could have the opportunity to be seen and heard the way my daughter has been during her time at Backcountry. The team's level of skill, experience, professionalism, and capacity to care has been life changing for my daughter.

  Back Country Wellness is one of the most well run practices I have ever had the pleasure of working at. Due to moving, I was unable to continue, however, had I stayed in Connecticut this is where I would have wanted to plant my flag. As someone who worked there I know first-hand how meaningful this work is to everyone who works there. All professionals in this practice go above and beyond to help their clients achieve a meaningful and healthy life; more-so, they assist clients in making sustainable changes to their lives. Dr. B is incredibly insightful and caring, and through that care she has built BCW into an amazing experience for the clients and families of those who receive services from BCW. When looking at a place for employment, I can't think of better. When looking at a place to receive treatment, I again cannot think of better- know that whoever receives treatment here will be cared for, nurtured, and encouraged to make life-long improvements.
