I have been referring patients and clients to Nina for somatic and trauma therapy for many years from my internal medicine/functional/holistic medical practice.
When a person has suffered a traumatic experience, be it psychological (abuse of any type) or physical (from an injury such as concussion or a severe or chronic illness), standard psychotherapy with a therapist or psychologist is usually insufficient for achieving true healing of the mind, body and spirit.
By using specific mind-body techniques, including breath work and body movement exercises, Nina is able to help people achieve a level of peacefulness and calm that they desperately need in order to reduce the "fight or flight" mode that people with trauma experience on a constant basis. By reducing fear and anxiety and promoting a sense of body and mental awareness, she is able to help people regain a sense of comfort, a psychological and physical state where they can heal from their trauma. The healing state that Nina helps them to establish enables people to begin to regain control of their minds and bodies and to live their lives more fully and joyfully. The other important benefit of working with a skilled somatic and trauma therapist like Nina is that she teaches techniques to her clients which they then use on their own to continue making progress between sessions and for the rest of their lives.
From my perspective as a medical doctor, having patients work with Nina leads to the treatments which I have recommended for them to be more effective and to achieve the best results.

Nina is a deeply caring and committed meditation teacher/guide in the Theravada tradition who weaves her somatic (body centered) therapy training into her approach. I had been meditating for 20 years in the Zen tradition when I began sitting with her. Her has guidance has opened up whole new set of practices which have unlocked deep insight and improved well being. She has been a wonderful contributor to my journey. I definitely recommend Nina.
I'm grateful to have the opportunity to work with Nina through her Somatic Therapy. She is a wise, very skilled, intuitive therapist who was able to help me understand and then work with ongoing issues I have been dealing with for many years. Nina listened and guided me, gave me numerous Somatic tools to use, and improved my health as a result. Her various trainings make her approach and style multi-modality, which has been very helpful. I would recommend her without reservation.
