  Some intense parts and some pure beauty and a chance encounter. This typical Appalachian Trail, plenty of elevation and an awesome workout.

  The trail above Greenwood lake is an easy hike with a view. Good for a few hour hike and lunch with a view.

  When we first encountered the AT from the road, we thought, "this is it?" Small little unimpressive cow path. But not too far in, the trail was obviously manicured, with trail markers and stone steps built where steep climbs existed. The forest and the views are gorgeous. In the photo are trail markers. The one on the tree means, "take a right at this fork." The one on the rock (lower left) means, "you're leaving the trail." I highly compliment those that maintain this annually.

  The A.T is one of the best scenic trails east coast has to offer and NY section of it is really good too. Unfortunately we went on a colder day so weren’t able to finish the hike to the Fitzgerald falls. But it’s a must go on a warmer day. Follow the white trail to get on the A.T. It totally depends on how much and how farther you can hike when it comes to the A.T.

  It was a nice experience hiking in this area on summer, Al green, warm and with humidity.
  
  The big rocks put a special flavor to the hike. The small ones make work up your legs.
