  Good online offerings. I never visit in person, but I did a virtual weekend introduction to Zearn. And attended several workshops. The staff is really good about outreach and answering any additional questions.

  I have just returned from a 3-day Sesshin in the beauty and splendor of the Catskills and the Zen Mountain Monastery. It was enlightening, humbling, inspiring, challenging and so much more. If you have a Zen practice you want to cultivate, this is a great place to visit for retreat. You'll be met with community, kindness, compassion, and care.

  Participating in a weekend retreat at the Mountains and Rivers Order changed my life for the better and was a profound experience. At the time, I was deeply skeptical. I remember vividly my sit down with a senior monastic at the time and relaying my skepticism. What she said set me on a course and while that course has wavered to and fro, I’m deeply grateful for the awakening it caused on that weekend many years ago. I hope to visit again soon.

  I visited often in college and then lived there for a little over a year. Studying meditation there changed my life. Go there. Do a month of residency. Do a weekend retreat. It's worth it, and the community there is wonderful.

Arrival and registration is from 4:00-5:30pm on Friday evening. (If you need to arrive after 5:30pm, please call to notify the registrar ahead of time: 845-688-2228 .) There is a meal service and a light supper at 6pm, followed by an introduction to the weekend at 7:30. Departure is between 1:30 and 2:00pm on Sunday.
