Zahava was a life saver for our family with the work she did with our 5 year old son. He was struggling behaviorally due to sensory issues, which was making school a significant challenge. Her unique work helped him to become more in control of his body and behaviors. She gave us the knowledge and tools we needed to work with his school so that he could receive the specific accommodations he needed to be successful. Two years later, he is thriving, self aware, and needs very little accommodation. We were so fortunate to find Zahava and have her expertise and caring support during a very challenging time.
A bodyworker's intuition is one of their greatest tools, and Zahava's intuition goes beyond the norm. Along with her intensely deep knowledge of the body, her intuition makes her the person you want to work on you. My hands were 'asleep' for 6 years — no other practitioner/modality had figured out the issue, and she not only figured it out but fixed it for me (along with teaching me how to maintain the fix).
I have been working with Zahava for a few years to find a way to ameliorate my sciatica. She has done very good things for my old aching body, but the most amazing thing she did was recognizing that one leg was shorter than the other. Keep in mind that this was at age 75 and I had been seeing doctors, chiropractors, massage therapists and podiatrists all of those years and not one of them had noticed. She recommended lift for the shorter leg and it has made a world of difference. My legs are now functionally the same length, making walking very much easier.
Besides being dyslexic, my son had a whole set of problems physically, that nobody could quite explain. Zahava was the first to discover the root of his issues. She educated my understanding of his problems and helped me support him . Through simple exercises and activities that utilize the brain's ability to learn and engage principals of Neuroplasticity", she quickly managed to improve the integration problems he was having. My son and I were stunned how he all over sudden was able to do things, he could not do before. Besides improving his physical capabilities, her support improved his reading skills. Zahava's experience is so multifaceted, that she can understand issues and recognize problems, that others may not see. She makes physical therapy fun and exciting and has a magical way of being with children.
Zahava is a thoughtful experienced feldenkrais and AB practitioner with an excellent bed side manner and intuitive understanding of the body's imbalance. She used her insight and skill to help me learn about how my body asymmetry contributed to body pain and how to improve my choice of movements to alleviate pain and discomfort.
