(October 4, 2022, 7:49 pm)We decided to visit after driving to town of Woodstock. We knew this was not original site of the festival. We saw the sign and called the number. Nathan answered and was glad to welcome us immediately without reservations. He was very knowledgeable of the key people in charge of promoting the concert and had done much filming and photography and creating films during that time in late 60s and 1970s he has taken many films and photos and created a 10 minute and 40 minute film highlighting that era. He met personally several of the stars of Woodstock k and has autographed books given to him by some promoters, musicians and others he will show u. He was very diplomatic and willing to talk as much or as little as you wished and would try to field any and all questions you have. Not easy to find but very interesting. The museum is his old film studio out by his house 4.5 miles from Woodstock. Recommend highly if you’re interested in the history of Woodstock

Nathan is the face of the Woodstock Nation and is an exceptional tour guide.He is a very enlightening individual with many stories to tell. If you want to learn about Woodstock, the people, and the true meaning behind it, then you must visit this museum.

(August 4, 2022, 10:52 am)I had read the reviews before we decided to go so we fully understood this was going to be a more rustic event than the Bethel Woods Museum was which we had visited the day before. Bethel Woods is like a very small Epcot Center at Disney, meaning it’s polished & shiny but, in my opinion, devoid of the true heart of what encompassed Woodstock & the Hippie movement. The Woodstock Museum is less a museum & more a wonderful & rich lecture/discussion about that time period & the hippie culture. Nathan, the President & archivist of the property, had us at his greeting & peace hand gesture & his passion about the subject truly drew us in. Based on the size of the facility & what I read, we thought we would only be there 20-30 minutes & we ended up staying for 2.5 hours & my husband & I enjoyed every minute. It’s a rustic/organic experience & the true treasure of the museum is Nathan himself. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!! Please note that there is no entrance fee as they rely on donations only. They do have some cool merchandise that with your suitable donation/membership will be included. ✌️
