  My rating is primarily based on riding a bike on this trail, because the whole point for me going here was too get some exercise, bike riding, but also to see nature, so not all bad. The issue I had with this place is it is very bumpy to ride a bike on, and I have a rigid frame, so not very comfortable. It is also more narrow compared with other trails I’ve ridden on. There is a heavy crown throughout the bike path.
  Circling back to the nature comment, there are lots of large birds in the area that you don’t see where I’m from on a day-to-day basis, so that was cool. Also, spotted some kind of canine/wild animal walking across a wall in the distance and through some trees… That was interesting to me.
  The trail runs along the Connecticut River on one side and the Windsor Locks Canal on the other side. Much of the view is covered by trees/greenery.
  There are a couple/few porto potties strategically placed near the parking areas, which can be helpful.
  It seems to me, this place is better to walk on than it is to bike ride on.

  8.24.23 Ample parking lot with 2 porta potties. If you take the left on the paved trail you go towards main roads. If you take a right on the paved trail you'll see locks and people fishing. This paved trail is bumpy in a few spots but it's ok to go walking on it. Water on one side and trees on both sides.

  Beautiful trail to for walking or running. Also, it's great for biking. Quite and peaceful. Plenty of parking. There are some tables to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee.

  This is one of my very favorite places to walk! It would be a 5+ star if the trail itself was better maintained. I love walking along the river. I so enjoy the opportunity to see Great Blue Herons, ducks, fish jumping, eagles, song birds, and turtles galore!! I will definitely be back soon.

  Nice to see this place during spring when the plants and flowers are blooming and growing back. The atmosphere personally was a little scary especially since the trail's paved area was a little thin and you're surrounded by water on both sides. You're also greeted by a drawbridge that has what seems like frayed rope and a missing child poster which sets the tone a little gloomy for an afternoon walk, but as long as you stay safe then it's a really nice walk in nature with a beautiful breeze and good scenery. There are benches here if you'd like to sit and just take in the sights.
