Located at Burnside Ave., That building opened in 1940 as a library. That building hadn't been occupied as a library for the last 5+ years. The library had a grand reopening to the public on Monday May 8.
This library primarily serves patrons in neighborhoods where there's access to books at this library.
As of now, there's no patron access to upstairs at this time but as more volumes will eventually be added to the collection, there will be more books upstairs and I think there will be children's room up in that level in the future. For now, there's a limited selection of materials from every subject, movies and children's books. -

(February 12, 2018, 11:48 am)The original East Hartford Library. It looks out of place sitting on the corner, like it was plucked out of the 1950's and dropped, but it's historical, like the building's at Martin Park.
