Have to go back since the house was closed the day we were there. Beautiful farm house and farm harkens back to the early years when living was much more difficult than today. The farm sits within the Morristown National Historical Park, which has so much to offer.
Beautifully kept historic site. Gardens Apple orchard and soldiers huts. The huts need to be preserved and the one that was dismantled needs to be replaced. It is an empty spot. The visitors center is great and the interactive displays are wonderful. The rangers are helpful and knowledgeable.
Gorgeous gardens maintained by volunteers in a spectacular setting. Very close to main grounds of Jockey Hollow National Park. Near Wick Garden is the New Jersey Revolutionary War troop encampment.
The house, barn, smoke houses, well and garden of Henry Wick and his family. The home is a New England styled house. The Wick House was built between 1747 and 1750 by Henry Wick who moved his family to the area from Long Island. He settled here on 1,400 acres knowing it had good farm land and trees and made most of his money from his trees.
The Wick House served as officer quarters during each of the Continental Army’s encampments in Morristown.
