  A small museum with snakes and all, various levels of trails, lotsa parking spots, right in the middle of civilization, several programs for kids run over the year!!! It can’t get any better!! Westmoreland sanctuary is the perfect spot for a nice relaxing escape!

  They have a small animal museum for kids and wonderful kid friendly trails.

  This place is my sanctuary! I have lived in NYC for 5 years and have explored many of the local preserves and this is one of my favorites mostly because the are no dogs allowed so you don't see dog poop everywhere like at Arthur Butler which is across the street. They also have a lot of great programs for both adult and kids and a nice little display in their main building.

  This place is gorgeous! We came in fall in mid October just in time to see the fall foliage and it is spectacular here. Beautiful high and low paths that are color coded and fairly easy to follow. Some of the terrain is suited for experienced or mildly experienced hikers and the up hill slopes can get a little brutal but its definitely worth the trek to get to the high points. Amazing views and very tranquil. We didn't run into to many people along our hike. The park has its own parking lot and also its own park offices that have a nice clean restroom and also recycling for water bottles. Very well kept.
