  A beautiful park in a residential area. Home field of the Staten Island Cricket Club. Came all the way from Philadelphia to a game, but the weather had other ideas. GO GCC!!

  Nice big park in the area. Great for kids and dogs. Nice well kept tennis courts. You can tell the park is well cleaned and taken care off. Ebelinda, the parks worker is a joy to see & always willing to keep park clean.

  Luv this huge park
  Always busy with games, set up is excellent.
  My kids have been going for years part of the various soccer games

  This was a nice pleasant discovery. Decided to drive up Davis And from Richmond terrace and noticed it. Got out of the car and walked around for awhile. A Baseball field, Tennis and Basketball Courts as well. Nice.

James J. Walker Park | NYC History | Greenwich Village - Carpe City

After his 1946 death, Hudson Park, near his house at 6 St. Luke's Place, was renamed in his honor. James J. Walker Park was originally a cemetery for St. John's Chapel, part of the famous Trinityparish. The burial ground was for middle and lower class parishioners. Edgar Allen Poe used to roam the small peaceful cemetery.
