  I recently (yesterday) had surgery on my ankle to fix a ruptured tendon along with some other issues. I was told I had to go on a blood thinner to prevent clotting during my recovery and that my doctor would call it in. In short, I could not afford the medication. I spoke with my doctor who called in a different (generic) medication which turned out to be just as expensive. My wife and I went online and searched high and low for a more affordable alternative including going direct to the manufacturer but that didn't pan out for us. I spoke with Nancy from the Pharmacy and she tried getting the cost down for us but was unsuccessful at first but she persisted and finally was able to get the cost down to a more than affordable price. I (we) have never found service like this anywhere else, not CVS, not Walmart etc. It's people like Nancy why we will continue to use Walgreens. While our main goal was to get the medication I needed at an affordable price, Nancy made us feel like we were people, not just "another customer" I felt the compassion and sympathy.
