  Jim Whittemore of Village Building & Restoration has done a number of major renovation projects on our home in the 35 years we have owned it (kitchen, garage, 2 bathrooms, living room expansion, basement finishing, and deck). Each was done professionally, on time, and at the agreed-upon cost. Jim and his subcontractors are a pleasure to work with.

  I have worked with Jim at Village Building and Restoration on a number of restoration and remodeling projects. We have an old Victorian farmhouse and Jim has done exceptional work in every case. His first project was to convert a three season room to an all season media room by replacing the outside sliding doors, opening what were windows into additional doors and redoing the flooring throughout the living area to pull the conversion fully into the living space. He has done a major kitchen and living area remodel that included expanding the kitchen, adding a butler's pantry, remodeling the dining room, remodeling a sitting area and remodeling the front entrance to the house. He's done countless smaller jobs as well. Jim is a pleasure to work with on a project. He takes your ideas and makes them come to life, on time and in budget. I certainly recommend him with the highest enthusiasm and in any future remodels, I will be sure to call him knowing that the work will be done with great skill and care.

  I have had the good fortune to work with Jim on two separate occasions and can't say enough about his professionalism and quality of work. Jim responded immediately to my needs, assessed and offered valuable suggestions regarding the work to be done, and above all was reliable and very professional. Couldn't ask for anything more! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jim for any project big or small.

  Rarely does anyone get the opportunity to work with a contractor who is all things professional, experienced, honest, thorough, and speedy. We were so lucky to find Jim at Village Building & Restoration! Jim handled our master bedroom renovation from soup to nuts, starting with drawing up plans, to handling the permits with our (very meticulous) city, to literally being hands on with the construction and project managing the electrical, paint, and flooring partners, maintaining the highest standards of quality. And he finished over a month ahead of schedule-- when does that ever happen?!?! Additionally, he supports local businesses and is an incredible resource for any questions or concerns related, or not related to, your own project. We cannot recommend Village Building & Restoration highly enough!

  I'm so glad I found Jim Whittemore from Village Building & Restoration. I was looking for someone to manage a whole house "refresh". I could not be more pleased with how Jim has handled the project. He was quick to respond to all of my questions, stuck to his estimate, and worked diligently to keep to a pretty tight timeline. He and his crew paid attention to detail and worked persistently to get things done right. I would highly recommend Village Building & Restoration for your next home improvement project.
