I love any trail that follows water and this one is no exception. Some Mountain Laurel in bloom and a (less desired) black snake crossing the trail. Some of you probably would like that...but I am not a fan of snakes, even when they are harmless...

A beautiful and challenging hike. Not a whole lot of good vistas of the river, but a few spots off trail you can go to to see it. Definitely lots of challenging up and downhill climbs. Trail needs some more maintenance, as some brush is encroaching, but trails are well marked enough. Currently a portion is closed for logging/tree clearing.

Extensive trail system and tote road for moderate hiking, mountain biking, and horse back riding. Shore fishing on Lake Lillinonah and seasonal hunting for deer, upland game and turkey. Stay on the established trails and pack out more than you brought in - increased usage has resulted in unauthorized trails and increased litter! Enjoy the beautiful scenery but also respect the land and the other outdoors enthusiasts and sportspeople you share it with. Keep dogs leashed, dress appropriately during hunting season and give hunters a wide berth. Camping and fires are not permitted!

Very good and beautiful place for hiking and would of given this 5 stars several weeks ago, but a massive storm blew down a lot of trees completely blocking some of the paths. I would of easily gotten lost since some of the trail marked trees have fallen over as well.
