My fiancee and I had a great experience at Uncle Mike's Car Rental about a month ago. We were shopping for used cars and without a vehicle, it was very hard to get around and see the amount of cars we wanted to in a day. We had been searching for three weeks when we finally decided to just rent a car. Being that we don't have a credit card, we had issues trying to find a place to rent that didn't require a credit card (and would not accept a debit card). The owner even picked us up from the bus stop so we wouldn't have to walk to him. Everything was great and because we communicated with them, they were very accommodating to our situation. The only downside is it takes four weeks to get the deposit back. Most places I've dealt with the deposit is returned within days of returning the vehicle. Today is exactly four weeks but it is a Sunday, so I expect to get the deposit back tomorrow.
We will return if we ever need a rental again!
Let me first start by saying that when I called Uncle Mike's, I was pretty desperate. My car broke down, I didn't want to inconvenience my wife by constantly using her car and most car rental services either had astronomical costs & fees or poor customer service.
That said, I came across Uncle Mike's when I googled "car rentals near me." I was extremely skeptical because his prices were significantly cheaper than every other car rental service I researched. I finally got over my fear and called him. He was super professional and very personable. I filled out all of the necessary information online, made an appointment and showed up at my agreed appointment. When I arrived, the process was simple. All he required was my valid driver's license and proof of insurance. I provided him with that information and he handed me the keys to a nice, white HHR. I initially rented the car for a week, but I still couldn't find reliable transportation while I was renting from him. Towards the end of the first week, he contacted me and allowed me to extend my rental for another week. He was still super professional and very accommodating; I was extremely grateful.
Allowing me to rent the vehicle for an additional week put me in a position where I was able to take my time purchasing another reliable vehicle.
In conclusion, Uncle Mike's served as a life-saver for me. His customer service etiquette is phenomenal. Being able to access his staff was a non factor. The price point was definitely worth every penny. His selection of vehicles to choose from was significant.
The only negative that I can think of regarding Uncle Mike's is that if you're not looking for his place of business, it is definitely easy to miss. I've driven past his place of business countless times and I never even glanced in the direction of where he's located. His business is tucked between several other businesses in a strip of stores.
Bottom line is - if you need to rent a vehicle and you don't want to pay the outlandish prices that the other conglomerates are asking, Uncle Mike's is the answer. They're a 24 hour business, they're local, and their professionalism cannot be matched.

Certainly understand why they chose the name “Uncle Mike’s”! You’re family from get-go! A nod to the small percentage of folks with family businesses that don’t look at you like a $ but a contributing member of their establishment. Professional, courteous, kind, and understanding of “life” and it’s circumstances we may face that challenge fitting into a perfect little criteria box to qualify for car rentals. The opportunity to meet “Uncle Mike and Aunt Lisa” was an absolute pleasure, they were nothing short of accommodating to my needs, happy to assist with transportation when picking up or dropping off their vehicle. The car selections for my budget were well maintained and above expectations. Not too mention straying from the cookie cutter basics they have a wide variety of cars/SUVS/vans to choose from. I will recommend this business to anyone I know looking for a rental be it a month or a day!! Five stars doesn’t suffice! Thank you so much!!
I used to shop rental cars, prices, availability etc. After my first experience renting a car from Mike, he's the only car rental guy I go to. I'm a 30 year+ headhunter so I know a good leader and business guy when I meet one. Mike runs a good business; he's honest, communicates well, and he approaches the business through the needs of his clients. Plus he has a great selection of vehicles!
Mike is such a gracious, personable, and professional business owner. I've used other "budget" car rental services in the past and have either been appalled at the condition/age of the cars or mildly offput by the perceived seediness of the establishment. Not here. The office is tastefully put together, the cars are newer and in great condition, and Mike himself has a disarming charm and easy smile that makes you feel you could chill and crack open a cold one with him. Not to mention, his rates are among the best I've ever seen. I plan on being a customer for a long while.
