  WOW!! my 90 yr old Dad came to Tolstoy not being able to walk, from a fall...the PT , OT staff are the best!!! My Dad is ready to go after a couple of weeks!!!! THANKS to ALL staff....Nursing, Direct aid care ....all....THANK-YOU!

  I've seen firsthand how the rehabilitation staff (therapy department) goes above and beyond to make both the short term and long term patients feel at home and a part of the community. The team makes therapy activities and goals as functional as possible--whether that means playing the piano while working on arm strength and coordination, or consuming your favorite takeout meal during a swallowing exam--you can rest assured that your loved ones' personal goals, needs and interests come first in the therapy department! The caring staff, in combination with the practice of the latest evidence-based therapeutic techniques, make this department highly reputable. I highly recommend!

  I highly recommend Tolstoy-- not only because of the excellent care they provide, but because of their wonderful staff. In particular, Director of Social Services, Sharlyne Gan goes out of her way to assure a smooth transition when people are being discharged from rehab to an assisted living setting. She is kind and compassionate and truly cares about finding the right setting for her patients and wants to see them thrive.
  
  Laura Maggio, Vivianne Donovan and Ann Marie Blackwood are also huge assets to Tolstoy and are always a tremendous help in assisting with this process.
  
  As Director of Community Relations at The Sentinel of Rockland, I know I can count on Sharlyne to be responsive and make sure all the necessary medical documents we need are thoroughly completed and returned to us in a timely manner.
  
  My experience with residents who have gone to Tolstoy for rehab is positive--- their families consistently comment on the warmth of their staff and the excellent therapy services their loved ones received.
  
  I couldn't give them a better recommendation!

  My mother-in-law has been at the Tolstoy Foundation Nursing Home on three separate occasions, and our experience has been very positive. The quality and dedication of the rehabilitation staff are excellent. We credit them with her ability to return to independent living at age 95. The entire team was compassionate and caring when she experienced more severe health declines recently. From admissions to nursing and social services, staff were responsive and dedicated. We met dedicated staff who have worked there for more than 25 years, which is rare in nursing homes today. Staffing on the weekends is more sparse, which is common in the health field, but makes that a more challenging time.
