We had a very knowledgeable and pleasant docent, thoroughly enjoyed our visit and for fans of the Lad, books by Terhune a room with memorabilia, made it a very special visit!..
Our tour guide was amazing and provided us with great information on the history of this Dutch owned home. The museum itself is not too big but you will learn lots of good historical info by the time you’re leaving. Tickets for adults were $5, super affordable. We dropped in to the Van Riper-Hopper Museum never expecting to be entertained as much as we were. Hannah was so enthusiastic and excited to share her knowledge she made the day terrific. There was a lot of back and forth banter as we continuously asked questions and she did her best to answer. We had a really lovely afternoon! The house itself is beautiful and the rooms are maintained to perfection. So many wonderful pieces! Hard to choose a favorite but i do love those embroidered chairs!!
Very old living style preserved and maintained... Can see old building and utensils used at that time... If guided by someone $5 charged.... otherwise free....
Nice place to visit... Only partially opened as renovation works in progress... A human made water reservoir present in front of the property.... If you are taking a guided tour (45 minutes to 1 hour $5 each person) the person will be explaining the history of Wayne... Old living style things which were used can be seen...

https://seepassaiccounty.org/explore/historic-sites/On September 25th, 1974, the home was uprooted and towed on dollies to its current location on the property of the Wayne Museum. The trip, which lasted over seven hours, took the home six miles down Fairfield Road, Route 23, Alps Road, and Berdan Ave; as part of the process, the home's roof was removed so it could clear lower-lying power lines.
