(October 16, 2022, 9:39 pm)It's amazing!!! The mill is still crankin!!!! It's a small museum but it holds a lot of history. I'm new to the area and it was a treasure to finally visit. It's a quick visit but you could easily make it an hour long. Take your time, read the pieces. It's worth it if you're a lover of historical stuff.

(July 8, 2021, 3:46 pm)This is a small 3 room museum with something for the kids, the adults, the engineers, the historians, and the artists. Admittance is free. My kids enjoyed learning about the working of the water mill and the nearby wind mill. My wife enjoyed the history, and I enjoyed the art on display. The staff was super helpful. Masks were still required as of July 2021.

(October 13, 2019, 3:12 pm)transcendental artist Agnes Pelton lived in the Hayground Watermill from 1921-1925'ish, she wrote that it was 'cold, drafty, poorly insulated' but that she 'loved it, felt contented, and happy' while there. she must be my kindred spirit!

The mill was built 1644, and was the first watermill. From the outside does look impressive and unfortunately was closed when I was there.
