  My husband and I had our Wedding at the Refuge this past Saturday. It was absolutely fantastic. We wanted to have a Brunch style wedding and what better place to have it then at one of the top brunch restaurants on long island. Billy who is the Banquet Director was unbelievable, just fantastic. His attention to detail and making sure everything was done was so reassuring. I was very worried about feeding a couple of my guest due to dietary restrictions, but Billy took care of it COMPLETELY. Another huge help was our Bridal Attendant, Trisha, she made sure we got to try a bit of everything and always kept us hydrated! She was FANTASTIC. She even packed us a huge take home container of everything we missed. Anything regarding the venue and catering I had no worries about at ALL! Not only that but I am still getting messages on how AMAZING the food was and how stuffed everyone was!!! From the Hors D'oeuvre, 4 grazing stations, and deserts everyone was rolling out of there. We got the open bar which was perfect they did our signature drinks, and everyone LOVED them. Overall, we had a total of 101 people attend the wedding. We were able to fit everyone comfortably outside of the ceremony and inside for the reception. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding. If you are looking for a place for your event make it here you will not be disappointed. Another great thing about the refuge is we can come back and try any of the food we missed and just remember the day years to come. Thank you Refuge for the perfect wedding.

  BEST BABY SHOWER! They went above and beyond for us. We had the outdoor space. We are still getting compliments on the food and cake. The banquet director, Billy was amazing and so easy to work with. He accommodated everything we asked for and did little things to make me feel special (it was also my bday). The maitre d was also fantastic. I have nothing but positive feedback. Great vibes!

  Loved the food and the wait staff here. Such a fun, warm and unique environment. And loved my frose slushie! Can’t wait to have my rehearsal dinner here before my wedding. We’re all staying at the Melville Marriott so it’s super close and convenient for family members.

  I came here for a small birthday celebration for my bestie. I enjoyed the rustic atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. The food was good but our waiter is was really made the night. He went over and above to make sure we really enjoyed our time out. His drink & food suggestions were on point and he was very accommodating. This definitely won't be my last time there!!!

  Found this place after looking for a restaurant close by that would accept walk ins. Greeted at front desk by 2 staff members wear masks 😷 (Thank You ) After the hostess asked if we’d prefer to sit inside or outside, we opted for indoor since the sun ☀️ was starting to set. She walked us to our table. We then were greeted by this awesome server, Shawnee (I believe that’s the name, wing tip and nail up to par 🤗 ) who took out order. She was attentive yet not over bearing. Providing us with the same care and service as I noticed she did with her other tables.
  We ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich and Lobster Tortellini with mussels and a pitcher of sangria. The food was tasty yet not over cooked. Shrimp were jumbo size. Sandwich was flaky but not dry.
  Créme Brûlée was decadent. It is a must to return.
  
  One con is the cleanliness of the individual restrooms. They have have been refreshed throughout the evening.
