(July 4, 2023, 3:11 pm)My mother spent two weeks at The Guilford House for short term rehab after brain surgery. It was our first experience with any nursing home and it was an extremely positive one. The staff was polite and respectful. I visited everyday and saw the owner there and engaged with the residents. My mother was very happy with the OT and PT staff. She was fond of her nurses and aids. I want to thank the social working, Lisa, who was so informative and kind. We enjoyed sitting out in the beautiful courtyard during our visits. They made sure to get my mother to the dining room for meals to socialize when I wasn’t there. I know it is never an ideal situation to have a loved one in a home, but overall I was pleased with my decision of the Guilford house.

(June 8, 2023, 5:05 pm)I can only speak from our experience but in my opinion, Guilford House is a standout on the shoreline for rehab facilities. Each facility has its pluses and minuses, its own set of challenges, but we have seen a level of service here that is far above the normal level. My Father has been in and out of hospital/rehab for 4 months now and this is the 4th facility that we have been to in that timeframe. The facility is very clean and well kept, the staff is polite and very helpful, and we are impressed with each passing day here. If you have never been to other facilities you might not appreciate the efforts here. If you have been to others, it is clear to see that things are different here. I would recommend this facility without reservation.

(January 18, 2023, 10:50 am)The Guilford House is a breath of fresh air. Whether short term rehabilitation or long term care, patients are provided with so much more than I have seen at other facilities. As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, I have worked in hospitals, community settings, and other private facilities. TGH is a family-owned and operated business. There is no barrier between what is needed/asked for and what is received. I am encouraged to purchase adaptive equipment to enhance access to all programming for all patients as needed, book entertainment multiple times a month, integrate community participation through volunteers and special guests, and incorporate family members (of patients) who want to be a part of our therapeutic recreation programming. Coming from facilities with layers of management, red tape, and restrictive policies that create serious lag time between what is needed and what is accomplished, it is truly a pleasure to work at TGH and care for patients NOW without hindrance. The ultimate test is that I would recommend the facility to my own parents.

(January 18, 2023, 10:33 am)My grandma stayed at The Guilford House for rehabilitation after a surgery. The care she received was steps above any of the other rehab facilities in the area. The building and her room were like a resort. Nursing staff and upper management were always checking on her. The physical therapy department was great and so was the food! The building and rooms are kept immaculate. 5 stars!

(January 12, 2023, 12:57 pm)A big thanks to the management and staff at the Guilford House. Both of my grandfathers were admitted in 2020. They both received nothing short of the most exemplary care imaginable in their time at this facility. The staff was extremely informative and helpful during a rather difficult time for my family and I. The overall cleanliness of the facility was something that stood out to me during my visits. I can’t say enough about the courtesy of the management. The Guilford house truly sets a shining example of how a rehabilitation facility should be run. Thank you!
