  I’m a student at Rutgers University. I lived in a studio on Chester Circle, bottom floor. It was cheaper to live here than to live in the dorms sharing a room and inconsistent water/electricity/heat. The flexible payments program were very helpful as a student. Utilities were about $20-30 for fall and spring, and were about $60-70 for the winter. It was awesome to have water, garbage, and parking included in the rent. When I moved in, it was clean, freshly painted, and the hardwood floor was free of scratches. My bedroom was spacious; able to fit a twin bed, huge bookshelf, full keyboard, desk, dining room table + chairs, and I still had plenty of floor space + had 2 windows. I had 2 closets + pantry in the hallway. The kitchen came with a refrigerator and stove/oven, counters were also scratch/chip free, and had plenty of storage space and a window. The bathroom came with a built-in medicine cabinet with a mirror, plenty of cabinet space, and a luxurious shower with a window. Being on the bottom floor, I was worried about bugs/pests, but there were none for my entire time living in the studio. I was worried about noise as well, but the 3 people I shared the building with were all very considerate. They all followed quiet hours, 7 AM-10 PM. The low number of people in the building also contributed to the quiet. All cities, especially New Brunswick tend to be loud, but it was almost always quiet at night outside after around 10 or 10:30 PM. I was also worried about safety as a young woman, but my private entrance had a chain lock, deadbolt, and a normal lock, all windows locked/closed securely, and the shared entrance locked automatically so no one could forget to lock it. After settling in, I felt safe. Gardens has a very strong sense of community. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. When I couldn't find a laundry basement, I was able to ask anyone around me and get help. The community is pet friendly and it's a nice way to meet neighbors; and there never dog excrement on the grass or pavement of the community. The apartment complex decorates for holidays and puts on community events. Maintenance workers were able to fix my heater when it broke in the winter within hours. They were respectful of my studio/space when in my apartment. This service was free. Management (leasing office) was able to answer all my questions about the terms of the lease when I applied. When I moved in, they were extremely helpful in understanding the parking rules and how to navigate the apartment portal. Everyone in the management team are some of the most kind, generous, efficient, and easy to understand people I have ever worked with for any company. They truly care about their tenants well being and will work with you, not against you (like most complexes). The neighborhood is also beautiful. Brick buildings, paved pathways, white fences, plenty of trees, bushes, flowers, and gardens. Location wise, it's close to Trader Joes, Walmart, Staples, Quick Check, as well as shops like Jersey Mikes, Playa Bowls, Whole Foods, McDonalds and MUCH more via Route 1. Route 18 goes towards Rutgers Mason Gross Cook/Douglass Campus, a couple of parks, and the heart of New Brunswick. The complex is pretty much 5-10 minutes of a drive away from anything you would need. If you don’t have a car, there are 2 bus stops within walking distance. I found it very convenient. The laundry machines work well and when one inevitably breaks, it is always fixed/replaced within a few days. I never had issues finding an open washer/dryer. I also never had issues with parking. There is street parking plus 2 different parking lots that are available to use. There are also free reserved parking spots but I didn’t feel like I needed it. Even when I came back at 1-2 AM, there would still be an available convenient parking spot. My CBU mailbox never gave me trouble. The keys and locks were replaced when I moved in so I did not have to worry about my mail being stolen by previous tenants.
  I enjoyed my time at Gardens at Raritan and hope when I am able to live there again!

  The staff at The Gardens at Raritan are great! They are respectful, professional, accommodating and prompt.
  Especially Albert in the Maintenance Department. He is a vital employee, always so pleasant and respectful. Every time I’ve put in a request, my issues were resolved the correct way and quickly! I’m definitely giving 5 stars for wonderful customer service!

  Ramona is always so friendly every time that I see her. She has built a great rapport with my daughter as well! She’s very skilled at what she does and we appreciate all that she brings to the community! 🤭✨

  Love these apartments, easily access to transportation to NY city and other places, closest to major highways, nice restaurants, movie theaters around.
  Staff: well mannered and polite staff. Staff member Millie very polite and knowledgeable. She is smart and very kind. Love the office atmosphere all the time. Their service department is great as well and provide very fast service in case there's any issue.

  I've lived here almost a year now and while it wasn't my first choice it's still a nice peace to live. The leasing office was very helpful throughout the process and moving in was quick and easy. One of the best things about this community, however, is the maintenance crew. Whenever I had an issue it was fixed promptly and Albert always goes above and beyond. He's very thorough and efficient, ensures that the job is completed properly, and does not leave a mess behind (THANK YOU!). I look forward to the next year(s) being just as great.
