  We always love The Claremont Tavern, it has become a reliable neighborhood staple for us when we want a high quality take out meal or an easy dine-in experience. The restaurant does many things very well, but it is often the items I feel skeptical about that turn out to be my favorites.
  
  For example, their pizzas, specifically their specials, are always better than they have a "right" to be, given this isn't a pizza place. More recently I have said the same about the tacos they have added to their menu.
  
  It turns out, if a restaurant consistently and capably succeeds when you didn't expect them to, it means that they didn't need a justification to try something new and exciting on the menu. They can put whatever they want on that menu and I'll trust them and try it because the team hasn't missed as far as I'm concerned.
  
  Beyond the kitchen, the service is consistently friendly and responsive, though take out can be a little tricky on some nights, either with longer wait times or busy staff at the host stand. Waiters have always been patient and helpful, even when we've brought our baby to the table and complicated their jobs.
  
  Overall, I'm a big fan of this comfortable, reliable, sometimes surprising, always delicious restaurant.

  Service was a bit slow...the place was packed but there was only one server for the entire place. That being said...the San Francisco Grilled Cheese was phenomenal. I'd deal with slow service any day to sink my teeth into that amazingness! It's a cool place in a quaint location. Give it a try...everything on the menu looked great and my friends enjoyed their lunch, too. They had a turkey burger and a pizza that was on the special menu.

  Great local tavern
  Food is superb ! Creative and fun also reasonably priced
  Staff is friendly. This places gets busy so be patient but it is a good busy
  
  We go often ..: the last time we were there they lost power at 7 and it never came back on and Yes we all stayed
  Not one table left in the entire restaurant. We all were happy with whatever we had received up to that point and hung and talked with friends
  
  So this is a definite go to in Bernardsville

  From the atmosphere, the service, the prices, to the taste of our food. Everything was delicious. My side of fries the asiago cheese garlic fries are a garlic lovers dream! Chuck's of garlic all on that bowl. Burgers are juicy and full of flavor. The only thing we didn't enjoy to much was the onion rings. They were way to greasy.

  I actually think I enjoy their COVID setup more than their typical inside dining room! Claremont has converted their back parking lot into an adorable outdoor dining area. Comfortable spacing between tables and great ambiance. Food is awesome as always. Can't go wrong with any burger off their menu. Would love to see some more vegan/vegetarian options (ie an impossible/beyond burger added) so my veg friends can experience a Claremont "burger".
