(July 15, 2023, 9:43 am)The Carisbrooke was the obvious choice for our shore vacation: the stellar reviews, proximity to the beach, and the fair pricing. I loved the decor, the bed was incredibly comfy, the amenities, everything!

(July 15, 2023, 8:08 am)I had initially booked a room at a new place a few blocks away which turned out to be horrible. They had extremely cheap mattreses and I could not sleep there and did not appreciate the complete lack of communication so decided to check out early.
I was lucky to get a room at The Carisbrooke and was relieved to find an extremely clean room, comfortable bed and excellent breakfast each morning around the corner at North Beach Cafe, which is included with your stay.
I stayed on the 2nd floor and had access to the balcony where you can sit at night and look at the ocean. The location is perfect, it's a beach block on the northern end of Ventnor which is much less crowded and more down to earth, which is what I prefer. John was highly attentive and accommodating.
If you're looking for new and hip, this is not it. This is a place that is an older beach house with a lot of character that is extremely clean and comfortable and highly recommended, as well as their other property across the street. -

(May 22, 2023, 5:26 pm)When we arrived we didn’t know about a code to get in. We booked thru Expedia. We called the phone number on the door and Jon gave us the code. After going in and grabbing our key and information papers we noticed cookies. This was a nice treat after a long drive. I’m still not sure if they were homemade but they were good!!
If your looking for the TRUE Bed and Breakfast atmosphere, don’t book here. My husband and I have never stayed at a B&B and were very much looking forward to the breakfast with other guests and maybe asking some questions about the area.Breakfast is included but not served at the house. You have to walk to the corner (no big deal) and eat there. We always took ours to eat in the room. We didn’t get the true B&B experience!! Breakfast was average. We had the pancakes and French toast. Pancakes were good but I would have liked some fresh fruit in a separate bowl…. French toast was too thick. I have seen pics of breakfast from some B&Bs and this was not even close!!
Jon was around but not like we thought.
We stayed in the blue room with the king bed and balcony. The room could use some updating and cleaning. (See pics) None of the pictures on the walls were straight which is a pet peeve of mine.
Jon did offer coffee and tea anytime you wanted it and bottled water in the fridge….
Parking if you can find a spot on the street or parking in a lot a block walk.
I left a 5 stars because I don’t believe in giving a small business bad numbers!!
Like I said above, the room could use some updating and more cleaning!!
Beautiful landscaping if it was taken care of! No flowers planted and needed some work outside -

(June 2, 2021, 1:56 pm)Don't even bother looking through the reviews trying to figure out if this is a good enough place to stay. IT IS AMAZING. It's clean, beautiful, and conveniently located. John is an EXCELLENT host. Even during the pandemic he did everything he could in his power to make our stay as bed and breakfast like as possible. When trying to book with him again we ran into some issues and he was extremely kind and accommodating. The inn is a very very short walk to the beach. We enjoyed walking the boardwalk during our time there. The food is GREAT, the service was incredible, and one of the cleanest places I have been to. Book your stay today, you won't regret it.

(March 28, 2021, 6:28 pm)We ended up booking a room in their sister hotel the north beach hotel last minute due to a bad reservation at another place and it was the best decision. This place was in an old style home & was just such a nice room. Very clean & spacious. They offer a military discount which is a huge plus for us. Also being able to accommodate us on a sat night very last minute was great. My only complaint and why I didn't give 5 stats is our room was on the 3rd floor & no elevator due to it being an old home. So that was a bit hard to travel up and down with luggage. Other then that I would highly recommend this place.
