(May 3, 2023, 12:19 pm)Great place for anyone to start who may feel intimidate and anxious but want to train with partners in an environment that values patience, all egos are put to the side. Coach Chris provides a safe, welcoming, humbling (ego free), and amicable environment and teaching style for both children and adults. As a femme BIPOC it is wonderful to see and feel people from different career backgrounds, age groups, and genders come together to work as a team to better each other. I encourage anyone who are looking for a safe and family friendly training space to join!

(May 3, 2023, 10:02 am)I recently joined Technique BJJ Academy in Connecticut after being curious about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for some time, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! The 4-week trial membership sweetened the deal for me, and Coach Chris and his team made the experience truly enjoyable.
The atmosphere at Technique BJJ is incredibly welcoming, with friendly students and supportive instructors. As a beginner, I felt (still feel) motivated and encouraged to continue my BJJ journey. My daughter also joined me, and she's having a blast too. It's amazing to see her progress, and I'm impressed with the maturity and teaching abilities of her classmates. The kids are great and she always wants to go a stay after while the adults train and the kids wait for their parents.
Technique BJJ has a wonderful sense of community and the sense of camaraderie among the students is awesome!
I highly recommend Technique BJJ Academy for anyone looking to start their BJJ journey in the Waterbury/Naugatuck Valley area -

(April 21, 2023, 11:08 am)My family and I have been training with Chris for well over a year now. Both my son (9) and daughter (8) train in the kids program and my husband and I in the adult program. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun along with Chris’ calm teaching demeanor. I have watched the confidence of my children grow thanks to jiu-jitsu as well as my own.
Technique BJJ is a female friendly gym with both girls and women in the kids and adults class. I personally feel extremely comfortable and welcomed every time I walk thru that door.
I would highly recommend coming and training or even just taking a trial class!
Walking thru the door can be the hardest part at times, but I promise it’s worth it! -

I come up sometimes and cross train at Technique with Chris and my extended teammates and they are always very welcome great training partners and all around great people . I highly recommend stopping in and getting in some rolls you won’t be disappointed .
