This facility changed my life. The unconditional care and attention to the clients is amazing. Kelly (counselor) single handedly saved my life. The BHT's were very helpful especially Christina who went above and beyond on a daily basis. Carol and Priscilla are the most caring nurses I have ever met. Great experience. I would highly suggest this "retreat" if you want yourself/family member to get help with mental illness ❤️
I stayed for 27 days at the tapestry. I met some amazing women that really helped me through my mental health journey. As well as staff being super helpful! I definitely miss some of the people I met @ Tapestry! But my mental health is so much better! It’s a tough & intense program- but you come out stronger for sure. My mom even teared up due to how much better I was doing on my discharge date versus when she dropped me off. Lots of progress made!
I came to Tapestry incredibly broken and hopeless. Though it is an adjustment to adhere to their routines and regiments, I feel it was 100% worth it, and just what was needed to reignite a spark of hope for my life again.
My counselor, Christina was phenomenal. She was attentive, engaging, and genuinely cared about me. Christina doesn't take any bull, which is what I needed; she is far from judgmental, offers the sincerest support and encouragement, and is willing to fight for those entrusted in her care. As someone who has been in and out of counseling services since she was 13yo, I can vouch that Christina's heart is the reason she serves the girls at Tapestry.
Demi, the chef and nutritionist is one of the sweetest people I've ever been blessed to know. She is first of all, one of the best chef's you'll ever run across and could be working for the president, but she genuinely cares about the women she serves at Tapestry, and plays just as much a part in the healthy recovery of the clients as the clinical team. Demi takes all dietary restrictions seriously, and offers equally as scrumptious and satiating meals as alternatives.
As for the BHT's (Behavioral Health Technicians,) nearly everyone that works there is interested in the well being and growth of the women under their care. They do the most without grumbling and complaining about the insurmountable amount of requests made by the clients. Special shout out to Val and Christina from 2nd shift, as well as Calista and Louanne from all shifts who often went above and beyond their typical duties, showed genuine compassion for us, and utilized their creativity and strengths to bring healthier engagement and deeper thought into BHT run group sessions. Also, for being excellent listeners who offer appropriate personal experiences as encouragements for resilience and perseverance.
Lastly, the medical team, Priscilla, Lisa and Carol in particularly, genuinely listen and care beyond just distributing meds and taking vitals. They offered strength and accountability when I could not do so for myself. Their kindness and compassion extends much further than just the nurses office and they are a strong contribution to the healing process.
Though I was incredibly anxious to leave Tapestry, all good things must come to an end. Tapestry is a GREAT thing, and I am blessed to have been able to participate in the program, surrounded by such wonderful people who want what's best for each and every woman that resides in the facility. I don't know if I'd be here today if it weren't for the program, or my care team. THANK YOU.
P.S. ALL staff that worked at this facility while I was there, are deserving of shout-outs. But, I am trying to keep this "short." ; )
Hello!! I recently completed the Tapestry program (Poconos, PA) and I loved it. I am 19 years old and this was my first inpatient/residential program. As such, I was very nervous and wary of both the place and the process. Nonetheless, she persevered!!! When I was able to ground myself and accept my experience, I found how truly special this place is. It was definitively a huge learning experience for me. Logistics wise, I was so glad to find an intimate environment with a small population and a good staff:patient ratio. As a whole, I adore the staff; Corey the nurse is bae for real, Demi is an amazing and accommodating chef, my individual counselor was bae, and the BHT staff are all unique and kind people. Regarding my own mental health, I feel like I made a lot of growth at this program. Being away from my home environment allowed me to gain clarity when I reflected on my habitual thoughts, actions, and behaviors. This helped me to honestly identify some personal triggers and struggles, and then work from there. I seriously can’t recommend this place enough! For additional reference, I discharged after 24 days (the program is typically 21-30 days, personal to each case). I truly miss my dear new friends, the fun staff, and kitty Binx so much!!!
I just got home from a 27 day stay at Tapestry Poconos and I have to say I really enjoyed my stay. Everyone there was amazing staff and residents. I felt welcomed and cared for. There was ALWAYS someone available to talk if I was struggling. The facility and property were beautiful and cozy. I’d recommend this program til I’m blue in the face! This place saved my life
