I will preface this review by stating that I am a finicky acupuncture patient, and have seen more acupuncturists over the past few years than most people will see in their lifetime. I have high requirements, and am active in my self-care (to the point of being somewhat annoying, but hey, it's my body), so my acupuncturists have a pretty high bar to meet.
Despite the very public proclamation I just made, I am slightly embarrassed at how often I have jumped around looking for the right healer. I am not necessarily proud of my particularity, but that is why I am sharing this healer with you. The search has totally been worth it, and I am about to save you a bunch of trial and error: go see Susan.
I am ecstatic to have found her.
I don't feel like a passive recipient with Susan. She has the perfect combination of engagement and care that feels nurturing and supportive, but she also empowers me in my own health decision making. I have digestive issues and anxiety, and saw a marked improvement after just a few visits, especially with stubborn eczema patches that had followed me around for a while.
I feel like we are in this thing together, and THAT connection is exactly what I have been searching for. I know I am in good hands (and needles) with this one. You will be too.
Susan Carter is a WONDERFUL acupuncturist - extremely knowledgeable, kind, and understanding. After visiting several other acupuncturists over several years, Susan provided the most support and tangible results - particularly during my difficult second pregnancy. She knew exactly what to do when I was nauseous, stressed, exhausted, or sick with this awful 6 week cold. She even helped start labor when I found out I needed to be induced! She complements her amazing treatments with holistic remedies and nutrition recommendations. Great listener and awesome bedside manner. If you're looking for a caring acupuncturist who knows what she is doing, visit Susan. She's the best!
I have been struggling with how to write this review without it sounding totally fake. I honestly believe that my treatments from Susie have changed my life. And I don't say that lightly. I am a high school teacher and I have a toddler. I've notoriously been a bit stressed. I've known Susie for many years and now that we live closer I am lucky and honored to get acupuncture treatments from her. I am sleeping better, I have more energy, and I am definitely less stressed out. Not only have I noticed a difference in my own body, but my family has noticed a difference and my colleagues have noticed a difference. I think my students have noticed too because my classes are going great and I am able to be more present with them. And with my daughter. And with my wife. Susie's approach is gentle and warm. She makes you feel very supported and cared for. Her office is wonderful (clean, warm, and welcoming.) The treatments I get from her are the real deal. Every week, I notice myself looking forward to my next appointment with her. Like I said, I really believe my treatments from Susie have changed my life. I can't recommend her more highly.
