I have been meaning to post a review for a while about my experience with Strong's Marine Southampton and i finally have some time to do it.
First, it is important to note, I live in Virginia, and I was in the market for a used Yamaha 242 Limited jet boat. With Civid-19 finding a good used boat was a really hard thing to do.
I reached out to David Russell about the one Strong's had for sale, David was very professional and a we agreed on a price over the phone, i told him, I planned to go up that weekend, David cautioned and advised me to let them test it out before i made the 600 mile round trip.
David/Strong's Marine found an issue, and wanted to resolve it before i came up. So that weekend was out, Due to Covid, getting parts was very difficult but they persisted and were able to get them and fix the boat. What is interesting, the only weekend I had available for the next month was July 10 and Tropical Strom Faye was bearing down on New York & New Jersey! But there was a window of opportunity in the morning to mid-afternoon and David and his boat Captain were willing to try if the weather held out, and it was safe to do so.
Understanding that Tropical Storm Faye was approaching, and how I wanted to be out of there as quickly as possible. David met me at the Marina first thing in the morning, and his boat Captain was ready to go for the test drive, Laura, the person that handles the paperwork, even had the paperwork ready for me sign!
They got me in, hooked up, and out on the road in under 2hrs! This was perfect timing as I was able to beat most of the storm on the way back
BTW the boat is wonderful and my family and i have gotten plenty of trouble free enjoyment out of it.
Chris
