(April 9, 2023, 6:27 pm)The Scrod was fantastic, drinks were average, but some of the slowest service I have seen during the lunch time. There were two of us sitting around the bar (not in the same party), and we waited over 10 minutes from the time we sat down till the time the bartender arrived from out of the back.
Since I enjoyed the meal, I would stop by again and give the service another chance. It might have just been a bad day. -

Went on a Saturday night. Was busy but no wait for a table. Food was excellent!Clam chowder full of clams, stuffed mushrooms were great, roast turkey dinner was very good, and the baked scrod was a large piece cooked perfectly. Moist and flavorful. Our waiter was almost non existent. Had to flag him down. Ordered a beer on tap and he brings a bottled Bud Light. 20 mins or so he disappeared after the appetizers. We were in the room by the bar. Ristic building from 1789. Great New England feel.

Went there for dinner after a wedding rehearsal. Had the upstairs room (Massachusetts room?). We had a preselected menu that included Yankee pot roast, stuffed chicken breast, and salmon. Meals were very good. Service was good. -

(February 2, 2023, 5:32 pm)French Onion delicious, fried oysters perfectly done, crab cakes...tasting like the stuffing...they are tough to get right. Our waitress was young, learning, atmosphere grand. Over all delightful.

(January 5, 2023, 6:08 am)We arrived for a post holiday late lunch, expecting a quiet room. Instead we found a smattering of likeminded diners nestled in the various rooms. Families, groups of friends, duos all enjoying the cosy historic space. The lunch menu was brief but a nice list of New England favorites. Fried oysters were plump and fresh. Stuffed mushrooms were fine and missable. The soup was hearty and perfect for the cool weather. Nice to have budget friendly burgers and sandwiches alongside chicken pot pie. The baked scrod is simply roasted. We also appreciated the care and attention from the service. It’s slightly eery pulling through the gates of the empty Big E grounds, but well worth a visit.
