As a survivor of all types of abuse, working with a good psychotherapist is critical. I have been to many over the past 20 years. Though I've heard good feedback about several of the providers at SBP&W, the psychologist that I worked with was Dr. John Cottone, a genuinely caring person. He is kind, compassionate and helps me navigate through the extraordinary ups and downs inherent in healing from trauma. His gentle yet incredible honest approach provides a fresh perspective to unhealthy patterns within myself that need shifting. When finances were tight, Dr. Cottone made it clear that my health and wellness came first and he was willing to work with me. Rarely do you find a doctor like that today.
