For personal reasons we chose to install New England security system and if of course, I had a few glitches triggering a response from the Stockbridge MA police. First and foremost they were on-site in a matter of minutes.
First time I realized I tripped it by going out onto our deck and simply was in error not having disarmed it on a long rainy Sunday. The gentleman officer, name unknown, was very kind and respectful, courteous and understood that our system was new and it was a simple accident.
The second time I tripped it, was coming in the door with my hands full, my phone ringing, but failing to be able to retrieve call because of a dying cell phone battery. It was my entry that tripped our system but in the confusion and alarms going off every where and if you exceed the time limit the system requires a second entry of pass code and when New England's security system phoned I couldn't remember the second on call word password we had set up.
I am a long time recovering patient with a severe case of PTSD, otherwise known as post traumatic stress disorder.
Officer Slater, also not sure if I, in fact, tripped the system or it was tripped before my entry, stayed to do a 3 story walk through of our home. She was thorough and patient, most importantly observant and responding with great compassion for my escalated state of fear.
When she left, my own fears got larger and took notice of a bent screen and I phoned her to come back. Immediately she came.
I took the Rusk to be honest and gave her some history and she was even more thorough than I'd ever experience to not only secure our home but followed up with my treatment providers to check on my emotional well being.
We need officers like her and the officer who responded11st time, New user of our New England security system. Stockbridge police are TRUE BLUES, THEY SERVE AND PROTECT!

Long story:
My friend and I were in the area visiting another friend. My friend, who is from Philly, was giving me a ride to the Amtrak so I could catch my train to Boston. My friend was pulled over for going a bit over the speed limit. We were unfamiliar with the area and the speed decrease near where we were, but were speeding nonetheless. We were pulled over by Officer Thomas Rubino, who must have recognized our error and unfamiliarity with the location and offered to give us a warning. Unfortunately my friend was in the process of selling his car and hadn’t switched the license plates, an honest error. This meant the car legally had to be towed until the proper plates were put on the car. Officer Rubino and another officer who showed up (whose name I didn’t catch) were extremely friendly and helpful. They called a tow truck for us and offered to give us a ride to the station where they gave us an air conditioned room, a phone, some water, and helped me find a taxi service to get me to my train. They did everything they could and more to help us while still doing their jobs and made a crappy experience less so. From my experience it is an excellent police force and facility, and thank you to Officer Rubino and the other officer for doing what you do.
My car was just totaled today with my 4 young children in it. Words can not express how grateful I am to have such a kind, caring squad show up to help and comfort my children and me. Everyone went above and beyond. Blessed with the best in Stockbridge!
